When for the first time you address audience, most often you experience nervousness and you worry about that to forget nothing. And if listeners are children, then it is necessary to put a lot of effort for gaining their attention.

1. Many people had to act: someone does it daily in connection with features of a profession, others are limited to one-two times. There are born speakers who can always tell the speech, a toast on holidays, to present the necessary information for a large number of the people. For them one more performance will not cause almost any emotions. And there is a category of people which perfectly knows a subject, but having stepped on the stage, forgets even the name.
2. Children's audience more specific and difficult since children are not able to constrain still the emotions and to pretend to be. If they do not like your performance or it will be boring, you will see it at once. Therefore for them it is necessary to prepare more carefully.
3. Performances are different: it can be both a usual congratulation on a holiday, and disclosure of a difficult subject in some area, and theatrical performances. In each of these cases also approach differs. It is considered as well age of listeners - for absolutely kids it is impossible to use difficult terms and the dry facts, it is necessary to add more examples and humour and not to stretch the speech for long time since they are not able to listen much yet. For teenagers it is already possible to be more serious, but to try that all data to them were clear and relevant for them, the correct jokes will not prevent too.
4. If you do not work with children, and have to make only some solemn speech, then it is possible to do without serious preparation. In your text there should not be very pompous and loud phrases, speak on business by an accurate cheerful voice, it is possible to try to involve audience in your performance, to tell a short interesting story in a subject. It is not necessary to wish half an hour without emotions to all good luck, etc. - except boredom it will not cause anything.
5. If you need to convey any information to children, to tell about something, then the text of a performance should be prepared carefully. The basic rules same - the speech with emotions, interesting examples and stories. Any, even difficult subject, it is possible to present so that it was clear to the majority. Children have to be not just listeners, and participants of a performance, ask them questions, cause them for descriptive reasons on the stage. The more they ask you, the stronger you interested them. But be ready that not all questions will be standard, sometimes they can nonplus, do not leave from the answer, and try to think up something worthy and with humour.
6. If your performance has theatrical character, i.e. you do some sketch, organize a holiday, then it has to be cheerful and easy. Here it should be taken into account age of children also. If kids are delighted with balls, caps, fancy-dress characters, then teenagers can just not understand it - it is necessary for them hotter topics. Same treats competitions which you will hold there. Try to catch mood of audience and adapt to it.
7. It is more difficult to perform with children, but it is very pleasant to see the excited happy faces of the listeners.
