1. You watch that people from an environment of the child did not use abusive words. Do not find out from the kid where he heard curses. Do not draw attention of the child to a problem.
2. Try to react neutrally to the pronounced abusive words if to your kid 3 — 5 years. Your positive or negative emotions will provoke the child to the use of these words.
3. Disaccustom the kid of 5 — 7 years to curses with method of a carrot and stick. During this period children strongly react to fear of punishment and humiliation. At the same time if you promised to punish or award the child, surely make it.
4. Track reaction of the child. If he does not understand the meaning of an indecent word, it will soon disappear from its lexicon. When the child asks you to explain value what of an abusive word, in quiet tones explain to him that this word bad and it is impossible to use it. If the kid said obscene expression at strangers, do not abuse it, translate everything for fun, and then alone talk to it about behavior in public places. If you notice that the kid uses foul language at negative emotions, explain to him as it is correct to behave at irritation and anger that such words how many do not help will cope with a situation.
5. Talk to the school student about the use of offensive language. Do not apply physical punishment. At the age of 7 — 10 years to the child it is important what place he takes in society. Therefore explain to him that using curses, he can become the derelict, the criminal, the bum. Especially there is a lot of examples of that on streets.
6. To influence the child of teenage age rather difficult — everything depends on whether you could gain authority on the early period. In this case he, perhaps, will listen to some of your councils and recommendations. Intimidation and violence will not take the necessary effect. On the contrary, the teenager on the evil to you will stand on the hind legs. But you should not disregard a problem too.
7. Try to bring the teenager to friendly chat, explain that his offensive language offends you. Ask not to use at least foul language at your presence. Over time the child will outgrow this difficult age and the use of obscene expressions will come to naught.
