Modern devices and sets for breastfeeding allow mothers to decant and store milk in the fridge or to freeze it. It is very convenient if you have no opportunity constantly to be with the kid. But it is necessary to warm breast milk correctly too not to allow loss of useful properties.
Instruction
1. Even if you froze just decanted chest milk in sterile tanks and correctly stored it, useful properties for immunity can be lost at the wrong warming up. Therefore it is especially important to know how it is correct to defreeze and warm breast milk. Teach it the nurse or relatives who will feed the kid in your absence.
2. Do not warm the fresh decanted milk if it was stored at the room temperature. Breast milk remains fresh within 4-6 hours. Warm up milk from the fridge on a water bath up to the temperature of 37 °C. It is possible to use the heater for baby food.
3. If milk was frozen, take out capacity from the freezer, wash up it warm flowing water from a frosty raid and put in the fridge. It is important that defrosting was smooth and gradual. The sharp temperature difference can lead to loss of useful properties of milk, change of its taste and color.
4. If breast milk was required to you urgently, put the frozen container or a package in a saucepan of warm water. From time to time stir slowly milk in capacity for uniform defrosting. If breast milk is frozen in a small bottle, it is possible to warm it in the electric heater for baby food.
5. After defrosting pour out breast milk in a clean small bottle for feeding of the kid and warm up up to the necessary temperature. The defrozen breast milk can be used for preparation of children's soluble porridges, to add to vegetable purees.
6. Never use the microwave oven for warming up of breast milk and do not boil it! From it all useful properties will be lost. Besides, the taste and a smell of breast milk can change.
7. Do not worry if you notice that the defrozen and warmed breast milk differs in taste and color a little. Usually it does not disturb babies.
8. You store the defrozen milk in the fridge in sterile ware no more than 5-7 days. Never freeze breast milk repeatedly, from it it can be spoiled.
