To become the administrator on the CS server on which it is not set AMX modes use the following sequence of steps
- Start hlds.exe.
- In the field of RCON password set the password which will allow access to the server console.
- As an alternative it is possible to specify rcon_password "value of the password" (without quotes) on the server console Console tab. To avoid need to register a command every time, the same line can be added to the userconfig.cfg file located in the cstrike folder. It is the normal text file which can be edited by means of Windows Notepad.
- For adding of the administrator it is necessary to enter a line of a view ""name |ip| steamid"" ""password"" ""access flags"" ""account flags"" to the users.ini file. The first element of a line is the nickname of the user who should become an administrator on the server, its IP address or the identifier steam. Through a space it is necessary to specify its password. Further a set of flags of access is specified. As a rule, it looks "abcdefghijklmnopqrstu", including all necessary flags. It is necessary to specify any combination of flags as flags of the admin panel (account flags): and — provides shutdown ("kik") of the player if the password did not approach; b – clan tag; with — the identifier is Steam ID; d – the identifier is the IP address; e – turns off verification of the password when using the IP address or Steam ID. Such lines, as well as administrators, can be as much as necessary.
- For an input on the server as the administrator it is necessary to prescribe in the console of a game to name ""Your Name"" and setinfo "" _pw """ "Your password"". The same lines can be added in the userconfig.cfg file that will allow not to enter their every time from the console.
The AMX installation allows to simplify significantly life of the administrator of the CS server as this of modes provides convenient access to the basic administrator functions through intuitive menus.
To become the administrator of one of the existing CS Internet servers, as a rule, it is necessary to have rather long standing of a game on the selected server and good reputation. It is possible to study specific rules and a form of application on each specific server, or to take an interest at the acting administrators.
