The DSL modems providing the Internet together with stationary phone have own settings. The user of the computer can change these settings. It is possible to make it through the special web service containing the DSL parameters.
Instruction
1. The web interface represents that other as "the local website" of the modem with manual adjustments and diagnostics. To come into the DSL or ADSL settings, open an empty tab in your browser, and gather the IP address in an address bar:
192.168.1.1
After input of the address click the ENTER key.
On the screen there will be a window with a form of an entrance to settings of the modem. Couple the login password consists of the words "admin" / "admin" or "admin" / "1234" (without quotes). As soon as fields are filled, a mouse press the input button on the screen or the ENTER key on the keyboard. In several seconds the page of the browser will reboot, and you will be included into the web interface with settings of the modem.
2. Some modems support an input on Telnet technology. Therefore if your DSL does not answer standard IP, it is possible to try to enter the following into an address bar of the modem:
telnet 192.168.1.1
3. If the computer is a part of network, perhaps, such IP address is occupied. In that case try to enter similar matrixes and you look at result in the browser:
192.168.0.X
192.168.1.X
Instead of X – any digit.
4. Perhaps, you changed the IP computer earlier and forgot it. By means of the special software it is possible to try to scan the range of the IP addresses and to find in it the IP modem or the router. The LanSpy and LanScope programs will be suitable for this operation, but it is better to use them only to experienced users.
5. And, at last, if standard IP does not work, and you have no time "bother", make the hard reset procedure. It represents hardware recovery of the modem on factory installations. Turn off Internet connection, invert the modem a bottom up or the back to you and find the small opening sometimes signed with "Reset". Insert into it against the stop or before click a sewing needle to reboot the modem then again connect the Internet and come into settings of the web interface in the way specified in the first step.
