Ways and technologies of distribution of files through wide and local area networks exists quite a lot today. In Windows to give to external users an opportunity of obtaining data of directories of a local area network, it is necessary to make them resources for the general access.
Instruction
1. Approach, unfortunately, is not deprived of shortcomings. Therefore in order that, without being afraid of consequences to distribute files in network and to regulate access to them, it is necessary to make installation and setup of a file server.
2. At first start a control setting for the IIS server. Click on "Start-up" in a task bar on your desktop, select the section under the name "Setup", click "Control panel" and pass into it. Find a label in the current window "Administration" and open it. Then open a label under the name Internet Information Services.
3. Now pass to setup of the most file server. Expand the section "Local Computer" in the left part of the Internet Information Services window. Then open "FTP Nodes". Now select point under the name "FTP node by default". In the menu select the Properties and Action items.
4. At this stage you need to configure key parameters of operation of the server with files. Go to the FTP node tab in a window under the name "Properties: FTP node by default". Enter port and the IP address on which the server should accept connections, in group of controls which is called "Identification". Specify parameters of restrictions for a deadline of waiting of connections and quantity in the Connection group. Near the inscription "Keep the Log" put a checkbox and select a log format if you need saving detailed information on the actions made by users.
5. To a file server configure access settings. Switch to a tab under the name "Safe Accounts". Near the inscription "Allow Anonymous Connections" put a checkbox, enter the name of the unprivileged user of a local area network and in need of its password if there has to be a possibility of anonymous access. On the same tab configure the list of all operators of FTP.
