1. There are two different options of connection of two computers to the ADSL modem. Both of them not absolutely convenient also have a number of advantages and shortcomings.
2. Let's consider a situation in which you need to create a local area network between computers, having connected them to one modem. The lack of this method is that you will not be able to get at the same time Internet access from both computers.
3. Connect the ADLS modem to the network hub. Connect the last to each computer the network cable. In this case you will suit the simplest switch of the 1 inputs and the 2nd output format. Configure both computers in compliance with requirements of your provider. Minus a method is that you will be able to be connected to the Internet only from one computer.
4. If you need existence of Internet access from both computers at the same time, then the second method will approach. Connect among themselves two computers the network cable. Connect one of the PC to the ADSL modem.
5. Open settings of a local area network between computers on the first PC. Select "The internet protocol of TCP/IP". Fill the IP address field with value 192.168.0.1. Click Tab for receiving the address of a subnet.
6. Open properties of connection to the Internet and select the Access tab. Allow Internet access for a local area network between computers.
7. Open settings of a local area network on the second computer. In the IP address field enter 192.168.0.2. Enter the address of the first computer in the Main Gateway and The Preferred DNS Server fields.
8. At such scheme of setup of network you will be able to get simultaneous access to the Internet from both computers. Minus a method is that for access to a world wide web from the second computer, the first should be included, and connection with the Internet – is active. Therefore as the main computer it is necessary to select that which is included more often.
