It is very important for normal work of a computer network that each node in it had a unique identifier which the IP address is. In the local area network the DNS server, on the Internet – provider is engaged in IP address allocation. There are methods thanks to which it is possible to define location of a website, knowing its network address.
Instruction
1. At first learn the IP address of the computer interesting you. It can be done by means of an email client of the MS Outlook. Viewing letters in this service, click the right mouse button on the e-mail address of the necessary correspondent. In the opened menu click the Properties point and pass in a tab "In detail". In the field of Received: from near a name of the sender of the letter you will see its IP address. If the letter was sent from the computer which worked in the local area network, the network address of the gateway will be specified.
2. There is a set of the online services suggesting to recognize the geographical address and other data of the computer on its IP. At the same time it must be kept in mind that all of them provide information on Internet service provider, servicing the computer.
3. Visit the website 2ip www.2ip.ru and click on the link "Information on the IP Address". In the IP address field specify a necessary combination of digits and click on the Check point. After that on the screen data on provider will appear: legal address, geographical location, phone, fax and other.
4. Visit other not less known service which is according to the link http://www.ip-whois.net/. Click the option "Information on IP". Enter data of the network address and click "Find information on IP". The program will issue information on a geographical location of provider and also Internet Google map with the settlement in which the office is located.
5. Install on the computer the free LanWhoIs program which is capable to collect information on the IP addresses and domains. Download it from the website http://lantricks.ru/download/ and start. In the Address field enter the corresponding combination of digits and click the option "Request". You can save the results by means of the Save command.
6. Keep in mind that some users hide the IP address. In this case you will not manage to set location of the person interesting you.
