In rare instances for access to certain resources it is necessary to use proxy servers. Usually they are configured in browsers, but if it is required to provide to the computer access to any resources of the Internet, create a local area network with the proxy server.
Instruction
1. If you use the Opera browser, click the Ctrl and F12 keyboard shortcut for a login to the menu of settings of the browser. Now select the Expanded menu and open point "Network".
2. Click "Proxy servers" and activate the Configure the Proxy Server Manually function. Enter the address of the proxy server and port for connection to it
3. If you prefer to use the Mozilla browser, open the Setup menu. Select the Additional tab and click "Configure", located in the Setup of Parameters of Connection with the Internet menu. Now activate the Manual Adjustment of the Server of a Proxy function. Register the address and port of the necessary server.
4. If you need to configure the proxy server in the Google Chrome browser, click an icon of a wrench and select the Parameters item. In the opened window select the Expanded item. Find the Change Proxy Server Settings button and click it.
5. In a new window click "Setup", located in the Connections menu. Now select a checkbox near the Use the Proxy Server for This Connection point. Enter the address and port of a proxy.
6. If you need to configure connection to the Internet in the local area network, using other computer as the proxy server, execute the following algorithm of actions. Open the list of the existing network connections. Find the necessary network and pass to its properties.
7. Now open properties of the internet protocol TCP/IP. Find the following fields: "The main gateway" and "the Preferred DNS server". Enter into them the IP address of the computer which will perform functions of the proxy server.
8. Fill the IP address field the same way, having replaced the last (fourth) segment with other number. Save settings of this network connection.
