Superstructures expand possibilities of the Web browser – for example, add the toolbars and effects of animation, block pop-up windows. Some superstructures are a part of programs, others should be installed independently, upon the demand of websites.
Instruction
1. To look at a status of superstructures in IE-8, start the browser. You can make it in two ways: click a program label on a desktop or note it in the All Programs list from the Start menu. In the menu "Service" select the option "Superstructures". In the Types of Superstructures window select "The toolbars and expansions". In the Display list select the necessary point. In the right part of a window you will see current status of the selected superstructures.
2. Click "All superstructures" to display all loaded expansions. If you want to browse the superstructures necessary for work with recently visited websites select "The superstructures loaded at the moment". "Start without obtaining permission" shows the superstructures approved by Microsoft corporation, vendor of the computer or your provider. To see the installed ActiveX elements, click "The loaded controls".
3. In the Status column the current status of a superstructure is displayed: "Is included" or "switched off". To include a superstructure, select it with mouse click and press the appeared Include button.
4. In the IE-7 browser in the main menu select items "Service" and "Internet Options". You select the Programs tab and in the section "Superstructures" click "Superstructures". In the Display window note the necessary type of the installed extensions. Then you can perform necessary operations: - to activate a superstructure, select "Include" and click OK for confirmation; - to change the version of a superstructure, note "Update" and confirm, having clicked OK; - to switch off a superstructure, click "Disconnect" and press OK.
5. The situation when use of some superstructures is forbidden by means of Windows is possible. For a solution start the Open window the Win+R keyboard shortcut and enter the gpedit.msc command. Open icons "A computer configuration" and "Administrative templates".
6. Open the Windows Components folder, then "Internet Explorer" and "Security aids". Come into "Management of superstructures". Note a necessary superstructure and follow the link "Properties". On the Parameter tab turn the switch to position "Is included".
