In some cases before the Internet user there is a task to learn the own IP address. Such addresses at it can be a little: in a local area network, external, assigned provider, and sometimes and that which is located behind the proxy server.
Instruction
1. To learn the IP address in a local area network, in Windows OS click an icon with two stylized monitors located in the right lower part of the screen, or execute the ipconfig/All command. In the second case you also obtain optional data. For example, if access to network is provided via the network interface card, you learn its MAC address.
2. In Linux OS for definition of the IP address in a local area network execute the ifconfig command. If you use for Internet access the mobile phone by means of the KPPP program, click in it the Details key, and in the plate "Statistics of KPPP" you will see the address in a local area network of the operator and also the external IP address. Consider that sometimes, for a cause of error in this program, these two addresses are mixed by places.
3. Visit the website which address is specified at the end of the page. Consider that from phone when using the UC browser it is sometimes unavailable. Depending on in what way you go on-line, you learn or one address (external which to you was assigned by provider), or two (external and located behind the proxy server). The second situation arises if you use means of compression of the accepted and transmitted data (for example, Opera Mini, Opera Turbo, UC, Skweezer). Consider that these servers are not anonymizing (that is, owners of the sites which you visit, all the same learn your real foreign address). Use of the anonymizing proxy servers in the majority of forums and other resources of the Internet is considered bad form.
4. To learn whether your IP address is static or dynamic, be disconnected from network then be again connected to it. Now check all three addresses (in the local area network, external and behind the proxy server). Those from them which changed in comparison with previous and are dynamic.
