Installation of the ban on the website can be made by means of editing the special document hosts which is located in a system directory of Windows. He is responsible for closing of access to certain resources and can be changed by the administrator of computer or a local area network.
Instruction
1. The hosts file is located in a system directory of Windows, access to which can be provided under the administrator account of the computer. Click on the Start menu of a system, and then pass into the section "Computer". In the provided list of the installed data media select a system disk of C. Pass into the Windows folder – System32 – Drivers – etc for gaining access to hosts.
2. This document will be displayed in the corresponding folder. For its opening click at it with the right mouse button and select the section "Open with the Help". In the offered list of programs select "Notepad" and click "Ok" then document contents will be open for you.
3. If the hosts file is not displayed in a directory, you will need to customize the display of the hidden files. Open the menu "Service" - "Parameters of folders" of a top panel of "Conductor". If this menu is unavailable, press the Alt button for its activation. In the appeared window select the View tab where in the section "Hidden Files and Folders" select the option "Show the Hidden Documents". Click "Ok". After performing operation if necessary refresh the page, having right-clicked in a window of the folder and having selected "Update". After that the hosts file will become available.
4. In a window of "Notepad" the contents of this document will be displayed. In the comments on the file located later signs of a grid you will see an example of modification of the document. So that to prohibit access to a certain resource enter the text of type:
127.0.0.1 adres_sayt
5. In this case 127.0.0.1 – the address of a local area network. It is the pointer on the fact that it is necessary to prohibit access to a certain resource from this computer. Parameter of "adres_sayt" is responsible for the resource address, access to which you want to prohibit (without http). For example, if you want to make the website of Google unavailable, enter the following request:
127.0.0.1 google.com
6. Each website which you want to block should be entered in a new line of the file. After the indication of necessary data click "File" - "Save" for saving the made changes. You can close the editor's window. The ban of access to the website on the computer is executed.
