Happens so that at unsuccessful update of the program or reinstallation of the operating system the bookmarks which are selected by the Internet user vanish in the favourite browser. If this browser - Mozilla Firefox, that is several simple receptions how to return everything on the usual places and to enjoy again favourite pages.
It is required to you
- - backup copies of bookmarks;
- - Mozilla Firefox browser.
Instruction
1. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser and find the Bookmarks point in the top menu. Select with a mouse the subparagraph of the Show All Bookmarks menu and click on it. The same effect will be gained if at the open browser to click at the same time a key shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + B". The monitor the new window "Library" containing necessary tools for management of bookmarks and showing their structure is displayed.
2. If it was required to replace completely existing bookmarks with saved, then it is necessary to pass to a menu item "Import and backup". It is located in the top part of a new window and comprises the following subparagraphs:
- Backup
- Restore (contains the enclosed points)
- Import from HTML
- Export to HTML
3. Select the Restore item, the window on the right where choice options will be shown will open further: recovery from the archive copy of bookmarks of the browser for a certain date or recovery from your file. In the latter case it is meant that the user has the backup copy of the bookmarks in the JSON format. If that is not available, then it is necessary to select the first option where preference should be given by the closest date of archive. Automatic backup of bookmarks by default to be made by the program each new day.
4. Having selected the necessary item (or having specified path to your file with the backup copy), confirm the desire to replace the existing bookmarks (on the screen the message will appear "All your current bookmarks will be replaced with bookmarks from the backup copy. Are you sure?")
Upon termination of the procedure you will see bookmarks from the backup copy on the former places, and it is possible to look at their structure, having repeated actions from a step 1.
5. The option of recovery of bookmarks using import from the HTML-file is possible (the Import and Backup menu, the subparagraph "Import from HTML"). In this case you need to carry out export of bookmarks to the HTML format in advance, having saved the file in the place, available to you, and if necessary to restore bookmarks already through it. However such opportunity exists only in the presence of the specified file and does not approach in cases of sudden failures.
