How to restore settings of the Internet

The changes made to settings of browsers can lead to failures in work and decline in production. To return operability of a system, sometimes it is necessary to restore settings the Internet by default.

Instruction

1. Close all applications including IE if it is started. If on your computer Windows XP OS is installed, click consistently "Start-up" and "Execute". Enter into the command inetcpl.cpl window. If you use Windows Vista, enter this command into the Begin Search window.

2. In a window "Property: The Internet" you select In the addition tab. In the section "Reset of Parameters" click "Reset". The Reset of the IE Settings window will open. Confirm the solution, having clicked "Reset". This command restores parameters of the browser, management of superstructures and the log by default. After completion of process click "Close" in a dialog box and start IE.

3. To restore by default settings of the TCP/IP protocol, open an input window from the Start menu and enter the cmd command.  


In a window of the console write the next line:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt.

Reboot. The reset command will change registry keys which are used by the TCP/IP protocol, and will write changes in the resetlog.txt file which you created for this purpose:


SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\

SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DHCP\Parameters\

4. To restore default settings of the Opera browser, start it and enter the text of Opera into an address bar: config. In the opened Editors of Settings window note a checkbox the Show Everything point. Click "By default" opposite to those parameters which you want to restore by default. This way will demand from you a lot of time and patience.

5. To restore by default all settings, select the option "Search" from the Start menu. Click on the Files and Folders command. Enter a file name of operaprefs.ini into a window of search – Opera stores the current parameters of settings in it. In the Search in window select "A local disk C:". Then note "Additional parameters" and put checkboxes near the Search in System Folders, Search in the Hidden Files and Folders and View the Enclosed Folders points. Click "Find". After completion of search click on a file name the right mouse button and select the option "Delete" in a drop-down menu. At next run the browser will recreate the file of settings.
