When in the house there are several computers, there is quite natural desire to integrate them in a local area network. The local area network allows to go on-line from any computer and also to use the general MFP or to use the general media server.
Instruction
1. The network interface card which is built in the computer or several network interface cards and also the modem connected to the computer gives access to Internet and shares.
2. Most often the local area network is created by means of such device as a switch. For connection of computers with a switch use a "twisted pair cable" cable. This cable represents a bunch from 8 couples of twisted conductors with RJ-45 connectors.
3. Then connect the device a switch to the main computer. And the computer should be already equipped with two net boards. One net board is intended for connection of the computer to the Internet via the modem. Other net board serves for local network connection through a switch.
4. After that perform a software setup, and the local area network with Internet connection is created.
5. If there is no opportunity to get a switch, it is possible to use two other ways of installation of a local area network.
6. Connect computers by means of a wireless network on the basis of Wi-Fi radio communication. For this purpose connect the main computer to the modem and check whether computers are equipped with Wi-fi adapters. Then configure the software through the Network Connections folder and its subsection "Wireless Network Connection".
7. Instead of the switching device buy additional network interface cards to create the network bridge. If you integrate three computers in one network, install in the main computer three network interface cards – one for connection to the modem, two others for connection of the next computers. Integrate network interface cards with the help of the network bridge. For what open on the main computer "Center for Management of Networks and General Access" and through "Connection to the modem" select the Create the Bridge function.
8. Only you remember that at this connection all computers will depend on the main computer that does not happen when using a switch.
