Separate kernels of AMD processors quietly give in to an unblocking thanks to structure of a crystal. For the purpose of economy the company sometimes use imperfect crystals. And they are blocked only because cannot work at bigger frequency without excessive heat production.
Instruction
1. It is possible to unblock only Athlon II and Phenom II processors with markings of X3 or X2. Most likely, after the procedure of an unblocking it is necessary to supply the processor with the corresponding cooling system, otherwise, if to accelerate the processor, it will quickly fail – will burn down.
2. The unblocking of kernels of the processor happens to the help of BIOS – a basic input-output system. Reboot to log in input-output, and click the corresponding key on the keyboard. It can be Del, one of buttons F in the top row – everything depends on the version of BIOS. You will see a Press Del to enter (run) Setup inscription.
3. In a case with payments from Gigabyte you need IGX Configuration menu item. Select Disabled value in the appeared CPU Unlock menu – it will include some parameters of the processor, earlier uninvolved.
4. It is possible to unblock a processor kernel in a case with the motherboard from Asus by means of clicking F4. In boards of Biostar there is a special function which is called Bio Unlocking. It especially differs in nothing from similar points of other vendors.
5. Click F10, save all changes. When OS reboots, there can be errors, for example, the known "Blue screen of death". There is it because defective kernels are not subject to acceleration and therefore if some to change not those parameters, it can appear. If it happened, just return initial settings (the Load Optimized Defaults point or something similar).
6. If the blue screen did not appear, all the same check a system for errors. The LinX utility will approach for this purpose. If in this case you find problems, defective kernels should be blocked out of harm's way.
