How to freeze pitted cherries

Even in winter time it is possible to please close people with dumplings or pancakes with cherry if in advance to freeze it. The frozen cherry almost completely keeps gustatory and useful qualities of fresh fruits.

It is required to you

  • - fresh cherry;
  • - plastic containers;
  • - freezer;
  • - special device for pitting.

Instruction

1. Having touched berry, wash out it in flowing water, pour into a colander or dry by means of a clean towel or table napkins. As cherry is intended for freezing, from it all water has to flow down. Otherwise berry will freeze together in a uniform ice lump.

2. After thawing the frozen cherry becomes very soft. Taking out from it stones, it is possible to receive shapeless berry of an unappetizing look instead of an accurate fruit. freeze cherry without stones is better. It is possible to delete them by means of a usual hairpin. However the similar procedure will drag on for a long time, especially if it is necessary to prepare several kilogram of cherry. To accelerate process, use the special device intended for pitting. Similar machines allow to peel cherry from a stone with light pressing. It is previously necessary to tear off shanks from berries.

3. After stones are removed, again shift cherry in a colander that from it all juice flew down. Wait about half an hour if you don't want cherry during freezing to stick together. Now it is necessary only to spread out berries in plastic containers. Fill cherry in capacity, densely close them covers and remove in the freezer.

4. If there is no opportunity to buy small plastic tanks, use a large container. In this case cherry is scattered a layer in one berry on a baking sheet and placed on freezing. The frozen cherry is shifted in the prepared capacity and removed in the freezer that it didn't thaw. Meanwhile on a baking tray place a new portion of berries and again send for freezing.

5. Of course, this way of freezing is represented rather long. However cherry will turn out not smerzshy, and for preparation of dishes it will be possible to take necessary amount of berries, without subjecting to a defrosting everything. Consider that the frozen berry easily absorbs foreign smells. Therefore containers with cherry have to be stored densely closed. For reliability place each of them in a plastic bag.
