How to make oranges jam

Jam is usually cooked in the summer when there are a lot of fruit and berries. Usually it acts as "preparation for the winter", but can serve also as a simple dessert. It can be prepared at all seasons of the year from fruit which are on sale in shops. For example, from oranges.

It is required to you

  • - 1 kg of oranges;
  • - 1 kg (1.5 kg) of sugar;
  • - 2 glasses of water.

Instruction

1. Wash up and dry up oranges. Jam can be cooked from the cleaned citrus (1 kg of sugar is required, not to throw out a dried peel) and also from fruit with a peel (1.5 kg of sugar are required).

2. Prepare syrup from water and sugar. Gradually to pour sugar into the boiling water small doses, stirring slowly with liquid with a spoon.

3. For fruit jam with a peel to cut them segments (previously to cut off a part of fruit with a bract). They have to be without stones, otherwise jam will taste bitter. Lower pieces in sugar solution, prepare on slow fire 1.5-2 hours. Not allow strong boiling of jam.

4. Divide the peeled fruit into pieces, in them there shouldn't be stones.

5. Fill in them with hot syrup, warm up on small fire. As soon as jam begins to boil, to remove capacity from fire, to cool not less than 60 minutes. Pour sugar solution in net capacity, perekipyatit it separately from pulp of fruit of 10-15 min. It has to thicken, add solution to fruit a little. Not allow strong boiling.

6. Repeat a step 5 two more times.
