How to make tasty plum jam

Plum jam perfectly is suitable for a stuffing in various confectionery. Home-made pastries develop a unique taste thanks to juicy sourness and wonderful aroma. It is possible to eat jam and just as separate delicacy.

It is required to you

  • - 2 kg of plums;
  • - 2 kg of sugar;
  • - meat grinder;
  • - capacity for cooking.

Instruction

1. Wash plums and touch them. The plums prepared for cooking have to be without decay, ripe and soft.

2. Remove from stone plums. For this purpose it is possible to use a simple pencil – with its help the stones jump out of plums quickly and easily.

3. Put plums without stones in a pan or a basin. Now it is necessary to process them all by means of the meat grinder. You shouldn't use the blender for this purpose – it won't be able to break a thin skin of plums.

4. Collect all ground plums in the capacity in which jam will cook. Add sugar and mix everything by means of a wooden scapula or a spoon.

5. Bring weight to boiling. Cook at weak boiling – plums at the same time will hiss slightly, and has to be. Plum jam has to be boiled thoroughly about 45 minutes – from time to time it it is necessary to stir slowly and remove a skin which on it was formed.

6. Periodically check readiness. It can be done so: scoop a spoon slightly soup and drip on a clean plate. If the drop on a plate doesn't spread, it is possible to consider that jam is ready.

7. Prepare banks for jam. Over a pan with the boiling water sterilize banks by means of steam. Covers can be boiled in the same water.

8. Pour plum jam on ready banks. It is necessary to spill it hot. Close covers and place on storage in the specially allotted place. Jam is perfectly capable to remain at the room temperature about a year.
