Pickled cabbage for the winter

The grandmother gave this recipe to me. She cooks very well and always thinks out something brand new. Tasty and crunchy cabbage turns out. It can be rolled up in banks and to leave till winter.

It is required to you

  • - 1 small head of cabbage,
  • - 2 beets,
  • - 2 carrots,
  • - 4-5 garlic gloves,
  • - sprinkling pepper of Chile on a knife tip,
  • - 5-6 peas of pepper.
  • For marinade:
  • - 1/2 glasses of cold water,
  • - 1 tablespoons of salt,
  • - 1/2 glasses of sugar,
  • - 1/2 glasses of apple cider vinegar,
  • - 1/4 glasses of vegetable oil.

Instruction

1. Cut cabbage in cubes of 2x2 cm. To grate carrots and beet. Pass garlic through a press. To mix all this and to lay in a 3-liter jar. To strew from above with chili pepper and to throw pepper peas.

2. For marinade to mix salt, sugar, water and vegetable oil, to bring to the boil. Remove from fire and allow to cool down a little.

3. Add apple cider vinegar and pour out marinade in bank. It is good to mix and leave for day in the warm place, periodically stirring slowly. Then to close a polyethylene cover and to store in the fridge.

4. Any cabbage - both white, and red will be suitable for such recipe. The red cabbage is a little harsh, but after pickling it gains softness. And the white cabbage is simply framed for pickling.
