For what furring under siding is necessary?
If walls seem rather equal and allow to fix siding panels, then often nonspecialists in the field of construction come to conclusion that it is optional to do furring. But skilled masters advise even in such cases to make support for siding which will perform in addition and other functions.

Choose necessary step for furring – the siding is heavier, the step is less. Vinyl panels fasten on rails with step from 40 to 60 mm, metal – from 20 to 40. Also the step should be increased if in your region strong winds often blow. Furring can be both horizontal, and vertical, it is made on all area of wall, including around doors and windows. Length of wooden bars has to correspond to wall dimensions, it is considered wrong to join rails with each other. It is necessary to begin furring with edges of wall that it was more convenient to level the plane. By means of the perforator, metal suspension at the edges of wall to which rails fasten is established. Between them it is necessary to pull cord on which it is possible to level other bars.
