Five important issues at the dacha at the beginning of summer

June - it is a high time to collect and enjoy the first harvest, to pay attention to kitchen garden, to be engaged in preparation of own fertilizer. In a word, in June at the dacha there are a lot of important issues.

We collect radish and salads

A day before collecting garden radish well water beds. Root crops will become impregnated with moisture and  will be even more juicy. That the garden radish was stored longer, cut off tops of vegetable and tail. Start cleaning of salads when sheet grades have 6–9 leaves, and at headed diameter the fork will reach 5-10 cm. Cut off leaves (heads of cabbage) at the earth.

We thin out plants

Timely thinning of vegetable cultures contributes to faster forming and the development of root crops, bulbs, sheet sockets. That vegetables did not interfere with each other, between plants of parsley and salad leave distance of 4-5 cm, carrots, onions and garlic of 5-7 cm, beets and turnips of 8-10 cm.

We put again

Having chosen the site for reseeding of garden radish, salad, fennel, dig over the earth on shovel bayonet, remove weeds and introduce fertilizer. Seed seeds on depth of 1.5-2 cm. Width between ranks of 8-10 cm. If weather hot, before crops of bed it is abundant water, and after - cover with light nonwoven fabric before emergence of shoots.

We feed up flowers

After watering around peonies, phloxes, irises, asters scatter ashes at the rate of 1–2 glasses on 1 sq.m, then slightly loosen the soil. Under roses bring the rerotting manure, chicken dung (part 1 kg in bucket with water). If there is no manure, use special mineral fertilizer for roses or the blossoming plants.

We do compost

  • "Cold". Randomly lay organic waste materials in one heap (hole): branches, leaves, food waste and so on. All this will rot through and will turn into compost only in year.
  • "Warm". Lay layers so: "brown" (branches, sawdust, hay and so forth), "green" (food waste, weeds, tops of vegetable and so forth), maturing accelerators (bird's dung, earth, etc.). Such compost will be ready in 4–6 months.
