At first sight long narrow room is not too comfortable for life. However correctly picked up situation can make it quite cozy. Such room is ideal for zoning – without any problem you place in it the living room, office and even the bedroom.
Instruction
1. Most often in the long room there is one window located on end wall. The far corner of the room remains without daylight. This shortcoming can be turned into advantage, having equipped the mini-bedroom in distant part of the room.
2. Establish at the end wall opposite to window, bed. If there is place, nearby it is possible to mount the fitted cupboard. Issue wall over bed shelves on which it is possible to place photos, posters and other objects of decor. From the main part of the room the bedroom is fenced off by sliding curtains on ceiling eaves or rather narrow through rack.
3. If you want to equip office in the room, arrange it in the lightest part of the room, at window. The zone of office is fenced off from other living space by transparent portiere from tulle, organza or silk cords.
4. Arranging the narrow room, do not put furniture along walls, it will extend and will reduce the room. Choose non-standard unequal height headsets, add them with hinged regiments. Try to break vertical, establishing furniture across the room. For example, arrange in the center of the room recreation area – small sofa, couple of chairs or banquettes plus coffee-table.
5. Choosing coloring of walls and ceilings, stop on the light tones which kind of are washing away room borders. Visually window curtains of contrast color will help to narrow space. Attach eaves as it is possible above, portieres have to be long, to floor or even below. Beautifully drape the ends of curtains on floor. The window issued thus visually will truncate the room and will make ceiling higher.
6. Experiment with lighting. Chandelier in the center of ceiling – not the best decision. To saturate the long room with light, combine dot lamps – sconce, floor lamps, desk lamps. Have no them in strict geometrical order. Your task is "to break" space, to leave from excess parallels.
7. Also the floor covering will help to zone the room. If your large room, you can lay two types of covering – for example, laminate of different flowers or block parquet with various pattern. In the small room it is possible to lay carpet, having allocated them recreation area.
