  • - pot for houseplants;
  • - water-permeable soil;
  • - kernel of cocoa beans;
  • - water;
  • - sticks for pollination;
  • - humidifier;
  • - organic fertilizer.

Instruction

1. Fill pot for room plants with the earth and properly loosen it.

2. Lower kernel of cocoa beans in warm water and leave it there for day.

3. In a day make in the paved way deepening (approximately on one centimeter), sprinkle water and place kernel in dimple, and from above cover with the earth.

4. Pot with the landed kernel correctly arrange in the room: on it direct sunshine should not get. Besides, cocoa does not love drafts and the neighbourhood with batteries of the central heating system. Remember that in nature cocoa grows in half-shade, that is under kroner of the huge trees closing access to light.

5. Provide plant with stable high temperature (from 25 degrees above zero) and the increased humidity (it is possible to establish near it humidifier), and already literally in two weeks from kernel the small sprout will appear.

6. Over time very young red-orange leaves of chocolate tree will find dark green coloring, on plant reddish and white flowers will appear. So, time to pollinate plant has come. As cocoa grows in house conditions, carry out its controlled pollination: for this purpose, having used special sticks, transfer pollen from stamens to pestle.

7. Water plant with the tepid water (minimum temperature of 20 degrees) which is not containing lime. Not too be overzealous when watering plant (roots of cocoa have to be moistened only slightly) as stagnation of moisture will negatively affect root system.

8. During the period from March to September feed up plant organic fertilizers once a month.

9. Spray cocoa with the special solutions preventing possibility of infection with viral and fungal diseases.
