To grow up good harvest of onions, it is necessary to choose the suitable site. The big crop can be received on the loams rich with humus located in shadow of garden trees. It is important to observe agrotechnology of cultivation of onions which consists in timely weedings, waterings, loosening of row-spacings and fertilizing by organic fertilizers.

1. Dig over bed. If have not brought manure in the fall – fertilize the soil the compost earth or humus. Also under redigging it is recommended introduction of nitrogenous fertilizers. For example, 3-4 g of urea on each sq.m. of the earth very positively will affect growth of onions – irrespective of, on feather or turnip you grow up it.
2. Plant seeds of the onions intended for receiving greens. The distance between grooves is recommended to do not less than 30 cm. 3. Prepare onion sets. (To grow up turnip – it is possible to sow seeds and to wait for two years. But in the conditions of nonchernozem zone it is better to use this agrarian technology.) For preparation the sevka makes sense to select strong healthy lukovichka, to make an incision dry necks, to wet onions in weak solution of humic fertilizer for 2-3 hours and to put on the bed filled with humus. Distance between ranks – 20-30 cm, between plants among – 10-15 cm. If you want to receive turnip of high commodity quality – do not cut off feather. Let's it start to turn yellow, and all nutrients will pass to bulb.
4. Buy seedling of long-term shnitt-onions. It represents small onion and thin plumelet, but since grows at bush, the productivity of shnitt-onions is considered one of the highest. One more quality which shnitt-onions are appreciated by gardeners – early growth. Usually in April-May it is possible to receive fragrant and useful greens to table. To grow up shnitt-onions, it is necessary to approach most responsibly preparation of the soil, the plant lands for 5-7 years. At disembarkation cut off elevated part, having left "stump" in 2-3 cm. Land by nested method (to each slot 5-6 onions). Surely water and cover for couple of days with dark film – to avoid direct exposure to sunshine. Shnitt-luk well grows on a little shaded sites, loves frequent waterings and he is sympathetic on fertilizing by organic fertilizers.
