How to grow up marigold

These flowers of the grandmother often grow up in pots on the balconies, touchingly calling them "marigold". Though the "official" name of this plant – Tages (so called the hero of antique mythology, the son of the Supreme god of Jupiter, the beautiful predictor), and to Russia it has come from America.

It is required to you

  • - fabric;
  • - saucer;
  • - polyethylene;
  • - drainage;
  • - spray;
  • - pot or box.

Instruction

1. Marigold – very unpretentious flowers with exotically bright "appearance". Before landing their seeds are put in damp fabric on saucer, covered with polyethylene (it is possible just to enclose saucer in package) and put to the warm place. Seeds of marigold sprout during two – three days. Seedling with two – three couples of leaves and the developed root system can already be moved under the open sky.

2. Marigold should be planted in the middle of May on sunny side of the site. The soil has to be damp and friable. Experienced flower growers place marigold along beds and near berry bushes: these flowers frighten off plant louse and many other insects wreckers. However the web tick is dangerous to marigold. As prevention it is necessary to spray plants with plain water several times a day. If the tick has already appeared, it is necessary to spray with infusion of pepper, onions or yarrow.

3. Seedlings often grow up also in "the closed spaces" - for example, in boxes with openings. On bottom of capacity it is necessary to put drainage (pebble, haydite or crushed stone) to avoid defeat of plants fungal diseases. On drainage fill two thirds of the soil. This soil layer needs to be stamped, but the following coating has to be loose that roots of marigold had enough air. The earth should not reach edge of capacity on 1 - 2 cm. The paved way it is abundant water and before landing of seeds left for couple of days in the warm place.

4. Seeds of deflowered marigold can be collected and planted in the next season.
