Instruction
1. For cultivation on the balcony choose low grades of strawberry. Early Clery strawberry, mid-season Darselect, late Florence and also other grades which height does not exceed 25 cm, with fragrant sweet fruits belong to them.
2. Prepare soil mix: for this purpose take peat, sand and humus in equal proportions (use friable humus). Place soil mix in the oven which is warmed up from 90 to 100 wasps for 3-4 hours. The best substrate for strawberry mix at the heart of which the semi-decayed peat and mineral fertilizers is considered.
3. Execute crops of seeds of strawberry in February-March. On the surface of slightly moistened soil mix accurately spread out mix of seeds with sand (do not fill up seeds with soil). Shoots appear within 30 days. To accelerate this process, cover crops with polyethylene film and put for several days in the fridge on the lower shelf (the recommended temperature from 5 to 7 wasps). Then place seeds in the room with air temperature no more than 20 wasps before germination. When there are first two leaves, replace seedlings in plastic disposable cups and place in the room with temperature 14-16os.
4. Plant seedlings in constant pots in May (if the balcony is glazed, landing can be executed also in April). At first plant seedling in pots with a capacity of 0.5-0.7 l and place on windowsill, and at the end of May (April) replace in balcony flower boxes.
5. Water strawberry with the settled water of room temperature in the morning or in the evening 1-2 times a week. You can combine watering with root fertilizing which recommend to carry out 1 time in 15-20 days. For fertilizing prepare the following solution: add to 10 l of water 30 g of ammonium nitrate, 40 g of sulfate zinc, 180 g of superphosphate, 0.3 mg of molibdenovokisly ammonium, 40 mg of boric acid, 20 mg of permanganate potassium, 1 mg of sulfate copper, 40 g sulfate potassium and also 2 mg of sulfate zinc. Ten liters of solution will be enough for fertilizing of 45-50 plants.
6. At once after cleaning of the first harvest (as a rule, it is June) cut off peduncles and leaves at the height of 3-5 cm from horn, at the same time do not damage the central leaves. This procedure will stimulate repeated fructification (in August-September).
7. For winter of container with strawberry warm foam rubber, film or other material. At opportunity take out them in cellar or the basement and you store till spring at temperature from-2 to +2os.
