1. Check whether there is heat from the battery. If it hot, and the room heats up badly, so to eat some obstacle for circulation of warm air. For example, very wide windowsill or curtains from too dense fabric. The pieces of furniture which are moved up to the battery can also prevent distribution of heat. The battery can be warmish for the reason that it is hammered with impurity. It belongs to old pig-iron batteries. In this case radiators need to be cleaned.
2. Large amount of heat leaves through windows. If you have old cracked frames, it is recommended to put new window designs, it is better from PVC with double-glazed windows. Such designs, having the high level of heat conductivity and tightness, allow to reduce heat waste significantly. If financially it is impossible, then make repairs of old windows. Replace the damaged glasses, close up slots in frames and under windowsill. It is better to use silicone sealant. The sticky tapes heaters pasted on position of joints of frame and glass are convenient in application.
3. Warm walls. Choose that wall which goes outside, and hang up on it carpet, it is better woolen. If the carpet does not fit into design of the room, warm wall heat-insulating plates, for example, penoplex.
4. Warm outer door. Use rubber sealants which are established on all perimeter of door opening and prevent hit of cold from the street. Your door will not only keep heat, but also will cease to clap unpleasantly when closing.
5. You value heat. You do not hold window leaf constantly open if it is not necessary or in the apartment there is nobody. Upon purchase of plastic windows ask to equip them with the system of climate control – special valves which allow to air the room at the closed window.
