Instruction
1. The petunia by means of seeds which should be planted at the beginning of March breeds (or at the end of February). If you grow up seedling in house conditions, then it is better to take seeds with large supply as at lack of light the sprouts can sprout only parts. The soil has to be easy, feeder and friable.
2. One day before landing carefully spill the soil water, mix sand with seeds and evenly scatter on earth surface. Spray from above with water and cover pot with polyethylene or glass. Optimum temperature for cultivation of seedling – 20-24os. Approximately for the fifth or seventh day, small shoots will appear. At the end of April – the beginning of May the grown-up seedling can be transferred to hotbed, and at establishment of warm weather – to the open ground.
3. The petunia is drought-resistant, but at long lack of moisture demands watering. Consider that large-flowered grades of petunia are more exacting to moisture, heat and conditions of power supply, than melkotsvetkovy. The main condition of long and abundant blossoming of petunia – fertilizing. Therefore it is recommended to introduce fertilizers each 7-10 days, beginning in week after disembarkation. Abundant blossoming is provided by complex fertilizers in which potassium prevails. The good result is yielded by fertilizing by organic fertilizers (humic fertilizers and infusion of mullein).
4. Plant seedling of flowers in containers and cachepot quite densely (about 70 plants on one square meter). Trailing and creeping grades of petunia cultivate on suspended baskets, high flowerpots and balcony flower boxes. To achieve abundant blossoming and magnificent growth, often water petunias and spray them with water from spray on two-three times a day.
5. Rains can do serious harm to decorative species of petunia. Water droplets can break off gentle lobes literally. Therefore it is necessary to remove before rain vases and baskets with petunias under the shelter. Water the blossoming plants accurately, under the root, try not to damage flowers.
