In cold and severe winters in garden stone plants most of all suffer: cherries, plums, apricots. It happens because of the fact that they have been badly prepared for winter conditions. How it is correct to prepare cherry, plum and apricot in the fall?
That stone plants were well wintered, it is necessary to know what events can be held in the fall and what are not present. On such trees it is better for scrap not to do. It needs to be postponed for early spring. Therefore delete only the dried and old sick branches. It is necessary to feed up well cherry, plum and apricot organic and mineral fertilizers in the fall. Under each plant bring about 5 kg of humus or peat, 50 g of superphosphate and 300 g of wood ashes on 1 square meter of pristvolny circle. It concerns only adult trees which have already begun to fructify. Under the young and only put plants, such fertilizing is not required. Only phosphoric and potash fertilizers for the best rewintering will be it enough. Fertilizers evenly scatter and dig over the soil shovel. It is done very carefully not to damage the root system of trees.
Also before steady frosts it is necessary to carry out moisture charging watering to the autumn period. On dry sites the earth is spilled up to 1.5 m in depth, on more damp to 1 m. For this purpose under each stone tree pour out on average 100 l of water.
Hollows on old trees smooth out from the died-off parts of wood, and then process solution of copper vitriol and fill in with cement slurry. At stone trees not only the elevated part, but also root system can freeze slightly. Therefore before approach of frosts bring mulch on all width of pristvolny circles.
