Very often there is a wish to update old furniture, and on purchase new as it often happens, there are not enough means. Today, it is not problem. Abrasive paper, brushes, paint, drop of patience and your furniture you will not distinguish from new.

1. One more, not less relevant reason of updating of furniture to be that furniture in the past, as a rule, was issued dark tones. Dark color absorbs light, and as a result in the room with dark furniture the constant shortage of lighting is observed.
2. Directly painting of furniture, is quite not difficult task. The main difficulty is preparatory work. Cleaning of surface, its grinding then putty, again grinding and at last, primer. All these operations occupy the main part of time. The more qualitatively you wish to receive surface, the bigger number of times, you should repeat this process.
3. For years of operation, the surface of furniture was exposed to various negative impacts, such as sunshine, moisture vapors, dust, prints of greasy hands. All this promoted destruction of structure of surface cover of furniture. To clean surfaces from pollution, apply degreasing. You should not treat this process negligently, repeat this procedure several times, after every time allowing to dry completely processed surface.
4. Then start processing of surface small abrasive paper, number from 120 to 150. Do not give in to temptation to accelerate processing, applying larger size of grain, it can lead to deep scratches. If the surface has deep scratches and chips, it is necessary to use putty. It is better to apply putty on epoxy basis. It is durable and strong. However to work with it more difficultly and longer, than with normal putty. That work on painting of furniture has not turned into dragged-out war, use quick-drying fine-grained putty on tree.
5. And so, the surface is ready. The following step will be, putting primer. Some, mistakenly consider that this stage can and be passed. However, only after use of primer before painting, it is possible to be sure that the put coat of paint, will not peel off the next year. Primer is applied with uniform layer, brush 10-15 cm wide. Primer needs to allow to dry out well, within 2-3 hours. Then, using abrasive paper No. 200, it is necessary to remove primer smudges if those are available.
6. Now the surface is ready to painting. For painting generally use acrylic or latex paints, they are durable and well lay down on surface. To achieve ideally plain surface, after drawing coat of paint, it is better to use spray. For high-quality painting, the compressor air spray pistol perfectly will approach. If there is no airbrush, start painting by brush.
