Planting of trees on clay soil considerably worsens their growth. But how to be if on the seasonal dacha such soil? You should not refuse landing of apple-trees, at observance of all recommendations the tree will well take root and will yield abundant harvest.
1. The hole for landing of apple-tree has to be wide and deep. 0.5 m are considered the optimum size 0.8 - 1 *. In order that underground waters have not got to the root system of young sapling, well stamp hole bottom legs, and cover walls with natural clay. The layer of clay has to be not less than 3 cm. If in the course of drying it begins to burst and fall down, sprysnit it water from spray or moisten with crude rag.
2. It is not necessary to cover apple-tree sapling with earth from hole. Clay soil rather poor and in it no, it is necessary for humus plant. Therefore it is the best of all to fill up tree with nutritious substrate which can be prepared independently. - 3 buckets of peat; - 3 buckets of bank sand; - 3 buckets of the chernozem or humus; - 3 buckets of the sifted ashes; - glass of superphosphate. All components it is good to mix and fill landing hole.
3. To exclude stagnation of water at the bottom of hole, it is necessary to fill up 10 - 12 cm of drainage. For drainage it is possible to use: crushed stone, small river stone, beaten brick, pebble, haydite, sand-gravel mix.
4. Make groove for withdrawal of excess moisture. It is necessary in case of abundant and steady rains. The simplest is to dig superficial groove, to fill it with small pebbles and sand.
5. Landing of sapling needs to be made correctly too. When the landing hole is completely ready, the bottom is stamped and the drainage is filled up, fill half of the prepared nutritious substrate. It is necessary to fill up so that the hillock was formed. In its center hammer peg, average thickness, 2 m high. Later straighten roots of sapling and distribute them on all sides of the hill. Fill up with the remained nutritious substrate landing, stir up sapling from time to time, carefully condense the soil with legs, and water a little that it was not formed emptiness in the soil. When the landing hole is filled completely up, again condense the soil with leg, so that the sock has been directed to shtamb of sapling and again make watering.
