Overheating of the processor can be one of the possible reasons of the increased rotating speed of the fan in the computer. In this case reduction of rotational speed of cooler will be the possible decision. Quite often reduction of rotational speed results in additional positive effect – noise of the working fan decreases. It is possible to reduce quantity of turns of the fan in different ways.
Instruction
1. If the processor is insufficiently cooled, fan works on the raised turns. For elimination of this shortcoming sometimes it is necessary to impose on the processor thermopaste only anew. Remove cooler, remove old layer of thermopaste and impose new.
2. The raised turns can be caused by technical fault of cooler. The standard fan in the conditions of insufficiently qualified assembly quickly wears out. Besides, the wear can be caused by long operating time of the fan. For prevention of wear the cooler is subject to periodic cleaning and lubricant. If the specified actions do not help, it is necessary to replace the fan with more modern model.
3. It is possible to reduce cooler speed in the program way. There are special utilities (for example, the Everest program) through which installation and control it is possible to control cooler turns. Consider only that weak models of the fan all the same can work at higher turns because of possible overload of the device and overheating of the processor.
4. One of effective ways of reduction of speed of cooler – installation of the additional cooling system on back wall of the computer. It will help to strengthen the performance of all system and to eliminate overheating of components of the system unit.
5. One more way assumes addition in supply circuit of the fan of the additional resistor on 30-100 Ohms (for chain of 12 V). At the same time there is risk that the required starting moment will increase, and the fan can not be started at turning on of the computer. For the solution of this task connect parallel to the resistor the condenser on 500-4000 microfarad. If to include power supply, then on the fan voltage of 12 V which then will decrease to the operating voltage of 6-8 V limited to the resistor will be given.
