Before beginning finishing of ceiling in the course of apartment renovation, it needs to be prepared. Surface preparation is obligatory anyway, irrespective of whether you will paint ceiling to bleach, paste over with wall-paper or to fix on it new tile. Very big inconveniences arise if on ceiling there are traces of old glue from former tile or wall-paper. To cope with residues of glue, it is necessary to work.

- - sponge;
- - capacity (bucket);
- - hot water;
- - abrasive paper;
- - step-ladder.
Instruction
1. If on ceiling old wall-paper is pasted, remove them and remove glue traces. Wet wall-paper several times hot water and separate from ceiling metal scraper or the palette. If wall-paper badly becomes wet, cut them that water got into material easier. Use step-ladder for performance of work, having supplied it with hook of their steel wire on which it will be convenient to suspend the container with water.
2. If old wall-paper does not give in to removal from the first, add to water special structure for removal of wall-paper which can be got in hardware stores. Leave the wetted wall-paper for some time (approximately for half an hour), and then again moisten with water. The brush or sponge of the big sizes well is suitable for wetting of old wall-paper.
3. Having removed old wall-paper and their remains, wash surface of ceiling with water, using wide brush. Brush wet about 2-3 sq.m. of surface and leave for several minutes that the ceiling has absorbed moisture. Then clean with the wide palette surface from traces of whitewashing and old glue. In some particularly complex cases for removal of traces of paint and glue it is reasonable to use special wire brush with metal pile.
4. Now wash away surface brush, well the wetted in water to exempt ceiling from stratifications, small particles and dust. Instead of brush you can use the sponge of the big sizes tied to long stick. Consider at the same time that the old glue color washes off, and here dispersive paint needs to be scratched out.
5. Wash up the cleaned ceiling surface with soap, dry up and process abrasive paper.
6. When performing each stage of works avoid haste. Do not try to remove old glue for once, separate ceiling into sites and methodically process them one by one.
