How to replace high-voltage wires

How to replace high-voltage wires

If in due time not to replace high-voltage wires in electric part of the car, then it can result in such malfunctions as power deceleration, troyeniye, twitchings, excessive consumption of fuel, swing of turns. Besides, timely replacement of high-voltage wires allows to avoid need of replacement of all ignition system.

It is required to you

  • - tester;
  • - silicone or VD lubricant.

Instruction

1. Prepare your car (deenergize it, having disconnected the accumulator). Before removing old high-voltage wires, draw the scheme of relative positioning of wires, distributings, the provision of additional corrugations insulators, plastic fixers, etc. on paper. It is the simplest to make several pictures.

2. Remove rubber tip of high-voltage wire from spark plug, holding tip in that place where the candle has to come to an end. Do it with each wire.

3. Remove tips from other end of wires, from the ignition module. When all wires are disconnected, take them and check visually for availability of scratches, breakdowns, cracks and other defects of insulating covering then carry out electric inspection by means of ordinary tester. For this purpose include it in the mode of measurement of resistance to 20 kOhm. Check each wire separately.

4. The longest has to have up to 8-9 kOhm, what is shorter, have to have resistance of 4-7 kOhm. Wires with indicators 10 kOhm also need to be replaced.

5. Further put new wires into place according to the scheme (or to picture). Previously process seats VD lubricant or silicone. If there are pollution, delete them. Putting on wire candle, at its compression you make fixing before click.

6. Do this procedure with all wires in strict accordance with the scheme.
