The tools working from the accumulator have set of advantages, but they have also shortcomings. Their main minus is the fast wear of batteries of the accumulator. It concerns also the screw driver which price more than half consists of the cost of its accumulator. Therefore when the accumulator battery of the tool fails, cheaper and quicker to make its restoration.

1. As a rule, the battery consists of several accumulators which are connected by means of spot welding. Nickel-cadmium accumulators which capacity is 1300-2500 mAh, and their operating voltage of 1.2 V are used in the battery.
2. Good point is that not the battery entirely, and its accumulators most often fails. It is possible to find the failed accumulator by means of tester. For this purpose measure tension on element and jolt of electricity. Before testing the accumulator battery needs to be charged.
3. When checking not damaged element gives tension equal 1-1.2 V, spoiled will not react in any way. Thus all elements are checked and faulty are defined. It is possible to use also more exact method. The digital multi-meter on which the measurement mode within 10 A is set will be for this purpose necessary. Then device probes short touch put to terminals of the storage battery. If the accumulator is faulty, values on multimeter will be less than 2A, serviceable show about 8A.
4. After the faulty accumulator is found, it is accurately separated from work elements. At its dredging it is desirable that iron strips remained on the battery, but were not taken out together with the faulty accumulator. It is possible to replace faulty element with the purchased accumulator, or to remove it from other invalid storage battery of the screw driver. Upon purchase it is necessary to know that in batteries accumulators most often use nickel-cadmium (Ni-CDs) and nickel-metallogidridnye (Ni-Mh). Application of different types of accumulators in one battery is not allowed. At installation of accumulators in the battery it is necessary to check their polarity, and in certain cases it is necessary to introduce some amendments in the scheme of connection of elements.
5. Assembly of batteries industrially happens to the help of spot welding. In house conditions to replace it it is possible the powerful soldering iron – 90 W and good gumboil. The soldering iron has to have big capacity that battery cells were not damaged from long heating therefore work on soldering has to take place as soon as possible.
6. After all works on soldering are finished all elements are established in the battery body. The assembled battery is put on charging, at the same time it is necessary to trace temperature of its heating in the course of charging. Before beginning to use the screw driver, do not forget to charge completely restored battery.
