Practically everyone who put and looked after apple-trees saw fruits and leaflets on apple-tree in dark specks. Usually they have gray-brown or olive shade. This fungal disease of tree - the scab which, of course, will not lead to his death, but quality and quantity of harvest can spoil.
The disease on apple-trees can develop in any warm season, and if in the spring of symptoms of scab it was revealed not, to be happy early, it can be shown both in the summer, and even in the fall. It is necessary to examine apple-trees regarding defeat by scab regularly, and at the first manifestations to process the corresponding medicines. Of course, it is better to hold preventive events, for example, to remove fallen leaves in the fall, to dig over the earth around trunk, to avoid thickening of branches in krone, etc.
The reasons of appearance of scab on apple-trees:
- instability of grade of apple-tree to this disease;
- too close arrangement of apple-trees to each other when the disease can pass from one tree to another;
- the increased humidity: rains, fogs, frequent and abundant watering and so forth;
- thickening of branches in crown.
For treatment and prevention of scab fungicides are used or folk remedies are applied. It is considered one of effective medicines fitosporin, they need to process tree at the first signs of appearance of scab. Only it is impossible to spray tree in hot weather, sunshine reduce effect of medicine therefore it is necessary to wait cloudy (but not rainy) for weather or to carry out processing late evening.
Folk remedies for fight against scab
Dry mustard
For processing of apple-trees 4 tablespoons of powder dissolve in 1 liter of water, carefully mix, and then bring clear water to pailful (10 liters). The received solution process sick trees with interval not less than 3 weeks, it is desirable after rain that mustard solution stuck to leaves and fruits better.
Potassium permanganate solution
Too quite effective remedy in fight against fungal disease. For preparation prepare brightly - pink solution in the spring, before emergence of foliage and light pink in the summer to avoid burn of leaves. The potassium permanganate specks which have remained on leaves and fruits of plant to it will not do harm.
