Quite often in Russian disputable pretexts which correct writing demands knowledge, but not intuitive arrangement of letters meet. Treat those steady pretext "in absence" which very often in written language is confused with noun and pretext "in absence".
Instruction
1. "In absence" it is used only as free combination of pretext "in" and the noun "absence" put in prepositional case and having the termination - and. For example: "The court has not seen reason for the termination of meeting in absence of one of witnesses". Or: "At the school student's lessons the teacher has not suspected anything criminal of absence". Here the noun with pretext "in absence" is used only in value "that it was absent".
2. If you use in the speech "in absence" as pretext, then expression is always written with letter – e on the end. Moreover, the pretext "in absence" can be checked, having replaced with phrase "in the absence of someone". For example: "In the absence of parents children behave is too noisy". Or: "And in the absence of the actors playing fantastic heroes, the New Year's holiday has taken place fabulous".
3. It is not necessary to be guided when checking steady combination "in absence" by other combination "at presence". The last is always written with letter – and on the end. For example: "In the presence of the wife he became shy and timid". Or: "Teenagers in the presence of militia became sad and gloomy".
4. Remember that the pretext "in absence" is used only at the answer to the question "whom?" at all not "what?" For this reason phrases like "for lack of wind", "for lack of opinion", "for lack of electricity", "for lack of money", etc. are considered as incorrect. Such words "at presence" and "in absence" are used only in relation to people. In relation to inanimate objects it is correct to say: "in the presence of electricity", "in the presence of reference point", "in the absence of money", "in the absence of motive", etc.
