Not all flower growers like to grow up hyacinths as it is very odorous flower with strong sweet aroma. However, it is difficult to imagine the spring garden site without the bright columns covered with wax-like florets in frame of greasy green leaves.
Hyacinth – perennial bulbous plant of family Asparagus. It is appreciated by gardeners the decorative features: the variety of coloring, early blossoms in the spring (April), beautifully shades greens of plantings, perfectly looks in decorative compositions, in cut, has pleasant delicate aroma.
Peduncle at hyacinth single, with the inflorescence having the form of brush and consisting of 15-35 flowers similar to small hand bells with the unrolled lobes. Leaves of bright green coloring, linear form, up to 20 cm long. Height (together with flower) reaches 20-50 cm. The spring cultivated flower seeds and bulbs breeds. Reproduction by seeds is much more difficult, is longer and is more troublesome, blossoming begins for 5-6 year therefore it is used, generally at removal of new grades. The result from house cultivation of fragrant hyacinths will depend on the following factors:
- quality of initial material (bulb);
- quality of the soil;
- capacity for cultivation;
- landing time;
- observance of conditions of distillation;
- leaving after distillation.
The bulb has to be:
- not less than 4 cm in the diameter (at the smaller sizes will give a lot of greens, blossoming can not occur);
- firm, elastic (the soft bulb will begin to spoil);
- dry, without signs of mold;
- without damages.
The bulb, for disinfecting, is located in saturated solution of potassium permanganate (40 °) for 15-19 minutes then it should be dipped into solution of fitosporin (to prepare according to the instruction) to dry, remove on storage.We prepare the soil
The soil can be got in shop especially for landing of hyacinths, but the way paved at home is more preferable to good result.
Structure:
- peat, the turf, humus – by 1 part;
- sand (large, without impurity) – 2 parts;
- the compost which has (ripened) – 1/2 parts.
To disinfect well mixed mix, warming up in oven at 110 °.
We choose capacity for landing
Of what material the capacity of special role is made does not play. At its choice it is necessary to know that:
- the distance between bulb and wall has to be not less than 1.5 cm;
- if bulb not one, then between bulbs there has to be gleam.
Simply speaking, to bulbs it should not be close, otherwise it will be power supply and light insufficiently.
Calculation of landing time
Calculation is carried out by ordinary calculations: from number to which it would be desirable to receive blossoming 24 days (there is building of green material, maturing of buds) are taken away, 10 weeks (rooting period) are taken away further. The received result will also be approximate date of landing of bulb.
