Tomato "Rio to Granda" – creation of the Dutch selectors. The grade quickly became the favourite as at professional farmers, and ordinary gardeners who have estimated his not capriciousness in respect of leaving and high productivity. The tomato well feels not only in hothouse conditions, but also in the open ground.

Characteristic "Rio Grandee"

It is grade of average term of maturing. The period of vegetation is 120 days. Tomatoes on bushes are formed throughout almost all season. Fruits can be collected as in technology, and physiological phase of maturing. If to place green tomatoes on storage, they will quickly ripen and dolezhat till January. At grade high transportability.  

"Rio to Granda" is resistant to weather surprises: he with firmness transfers drought and fall of temperature. Well feels in the scorching sun, unlike some other grades which begin "to burn" during hot weather. It when under thin skin of tomato juice kind of "cooks", as a result tomato becomes yellow and unsuitable. Also it is resistant to typical tomato sores (to phytophthora, gray decay). 

Description of bushes and fruits

The grade belongs to determinant type. Its bushes are distinguished by compactness and moderate quantity of leaves. The plant has the average length of 60-70 cm. Thanks to it "Rio to Granda" does not demand garters. Bushes if desired can be not pasynkovat, however experienced gardeners recommend to do it for increase in productivity. On one bush grows to 10 ovaries.  

At tomatoes "Rio to Granda" form of the extended plum. Fruits of bright red-pink color, with dense pulp and thick walls. They such remain also in ripe state therefore are well stored.

Many note insufficient juiciness "Rio to Granda" in comparison with larger grades ("White filling", Anyuta). This feature is with interest leveled by gentle taste and pleasant aroma of ripe tomatoes. Pulp on bigger measure sweet, but small sourness is present. The mass of fruits reaches 150 g. 

Thanks to thick abrasive paper the tomatoes "Rio to Granda" are ideal for frying on brazier. They are also suitable for drying, drying, adjika. At preservation the dense glossy fruits well hold form and do not crack. Juice from them turns out dense, with saturated taste, bright red color.  

Features of cultivation

At "Rio to Granda" standard sowing time – the first of March. Seeds place in friable and light substrate to which it is desirable to add humus. The sword-play is made at formation of two real leaves. After that carry out the first fertilizing by complex fertilizer.  

Tomatoes "to Granda" land Rio under the open sky not earlier than June. To greenhouses earlier disembarkation is possible. Thanks to compactness "Rio to Granda" with success can be grown up on the balcony in containers.  

Plants in soil place 50х40 cm according to the scheme. On one "square" no more than 7 bushes comfortably feel. Several times during the season "Rio Granda" should feed up phosphorus-containing fertilizers.
