1. On maturing terms the tomatoes are divided into early ripening, sredneranny, mid-season and late-ripening tomatoes. At early ripening grades the vegetative period from shoots before maturing is from 85 to 100 days. Fruits of sredneranny grades reach maturity approximately in 110 days from shoots. At mid-season and late-ripening grades the term of maturing fluctuates from 115 to 120 days. The specified terms approximate, they depend on ways of cultivation and weather patterns. In the conditions of short Siberian summer it is better to give preference to early ripening and sredneranny grades.
2. Also there is gradation of grades of tomatoes as growth. Tomatoes with unlimited growth are called "indeterminantny". Such grades can continuously grow, the most big crops receive from these tomatoes. Tomatoes with limited point of growth are called "determinant". Grades of this type of growth differ in lower stalk, slow growth and densely located leaves and inflorescences. For Siberia determinant grades are most optimum.
3. Tomatoes are subdivided into high-quality and hybrid. High-quality tomatoes concede to hybrid tomatoes in productivity and differ in smaller resistance to adverse conditions. But hybrids lose the signs in the second generation, and high-quality tomatoes the signs keep several generations. Therefore any gardener can make multiple copies high-quality tomatoes independently. Also hybrid tomatoes concede on tastes high-quality.
4. When choosing grade of tomatoes for Siberia it is necessary to consider weather patterns and conditions of cultivation. Summer in Siberia short, but roast. It is better to grow up tomatoes in the conditions of Siberia in the protected soil, the harvest will be higher, but experienced gardeners receive good harvests and in the open ground. These hybrids belong to early ripening tomatoes, fructification occurs in 95 days after emergence of shoots. Even in adverse weather conditions these hybrids yield big crop and are resistant to diseases. Fruits of hybrids are suitable not only for preparation of salads, but also for conservation.
