Why for construction choose one-and-a-half brick

Bricks – the most known material for construction which is used within many decades. It represents the stone received in the artificial way and can be the different size – unary, double, but the greatest popularity the so-called one-and-a-half brick has deserved.

At one-and-a-half brick the wide sphere of use – from it build both multi-storey residential buildings, and small constructions of technical purpose, and other buildings. Its popularity is caused by the fact that the product not only has good performance data, but also does construction cheaper. For example, it is possible to reduce consumption of cement by 40% in comparison with use of brick of other size.

Properties and types of brick

The brick is exclusively strong and resistant to influence of humidity, and the price of it quite democratic. Its sizes – 250Х120Х88 mm. Using one-and-a-half brick when building, it is possible to save both material resources, and time spent for work.

Before buying materials for construction, define that it is necessary for work.

The brick to destination is divided into facing (it can have smooth side edges, corrugated or impressive) and construction.

As production it can be silicate or ceramic – they differ with both raw materials, and method of production. Stoneware forms from clay mix with the additives improving material functions and burns. Normal weight for ceramic corpulent brick – 3.5-3.8 kg. More often they are applied to facing, to wall construction, fences, partitions, and such property as fire resistance, allows to use material for laying of furnaces, fireplaces.

The lime sand brick is a little easier also softer. Its production requires sand mix with lime from which form bricks and dry under certain conditions. But also its durability turns out much more smaller. It is not so universal as ceramic – it can be used only for wall construction, partitions.

Structure of brick

On structure, material can be integral or with emptiness – these types distinguish a little different characteristics. Emptiness in brick do in order that at production of raw materials would be spent less – from the total amount of element they occupy approximately the third part. But its design is thought over so that to maintain rather heavy load, and thanks to availability of cavities it to good deduction of heat.

At integral, that is corpulent, durability is better, but it also is a little more expensive. Also other, less widespread versions intended for performance of lightweight layings are developed: porous, hollow, perforated. Here durability and small weight are more demanded.

The one-and-a-half brick is got in those sluchyakh when want to receive good result at not really big investments. It perfectly will help when important circumstance is saving of time when building.
