1. Those who against spring whitewashing of trees consider that it is carried out only for beauty and any do not bring benefit. They even assure that spring whitewashing can prevent trunks of trees "to breathe", having clogged up their pores. 4. Process of whitewashing consists in the following. At first the tree trunk is smoothed out from mosses, lichens and old dry bark. It becomes special scraper or wire brush. Cleaning has to be careful, on all trunk within reach. Then all cracks and wounds are covered. Garden putty is for this purpose used. And only after that, when putty will dry out, it is possible to start whitewashing.
5. Whitewashing can be bought ready in shop, and it is possible to make independently. For preparation of pobelochny solution in house conditions it is required on ten-liter bucket of water: 2.5 kg of dry unslaked lime and 0.5 l of copper vitriol. Lime is carefully filled in with water, small portions, and mixes up. Solution has to settle within two days. Then copper vitriol and 200 g of joiner's glue is added. Everything mixes up again and it is possible to put whitewashing - special brush, it is obligatory in gloves.
6. By the way, many bleach trees not only in the spring, but also in the fall, that is two times a year. It is necessary to bleach in the fall when foliage on trees has already fallen down, but rains and cold weather have not come yet – no later than October. Autumn whitewashing performs the same functions, as spring – protects trees from wreckers and solar burns in the early spring.
7. Anyway, it is important not just to paint trees white color that it was beautiful, and it is correct to make it, having carried out preliminary preparation and having parted structure from necessary ingredients. Then whitewashing will really protect garden.
