The gardeners who are growing up cucumbers in the greenhouse rather often face problem – ovaries on lashes turn yellow, rot and fall down. And everything begins with flower lobes, then decay passes to ovary, and process not to stop any more. To avoid this annoying trouble, it is necessary to know the reasons of its emergence and to prevent them.
Bacteriosis
Bacteriosis – the frequent reason of rotting of ovaries. Its distribution on cucumber ridge is promoted by the increased dampness of soil and air and also thickness of landing of plants. Emergence of bacteriosis can be connected also with violation of conditions of keeping of cucumber landings: poor soil, sharp temperature differences, etc.
Gardeners often ignore the rule of agrotechnology warning that it is impossible to grow up cucumbers on the same site from year to year. The infection has property to remain in the soil and to infect landings of the next seasons.
For prevention and prevention of bacteriosis it is possible to spray cucumber lashes of 1% with the Bordeaux liquid, or 0.4% copper oxychloride suspension. Usually after such processing cucumbers begin to be tied and develop well.
Wrong watering
Cucumbers are very sensitive to watering. It is necessary to water them often and regularly, especially during fructification. It is impossible to allow dryings of the soil. However, also inadmissibly and to turn cucumber ridge into pool, it can lead to bogging of the soil, and from it already no distance to mold and decay. All this will inevitably lead to what flowers and ovary will begin to turn yellow, rot and fall down. It is necessary to water cucumbers only with warm water: in cool weather – in the afternoon, in solar – early in the morning. In hot days it is desirable to do the refreshing watering (not necessarily to the soil, it is possible just to sprinkle leaves), to water in the evening, as usual. If ovaries have begun to turn yellow (most often it happens during cold wet weather), accurately remove flowers and process these places weak solution of potassium permanganate (margantsovokisly potassium).
Large number of ovaries
Do not allow development on one cucumber lash more than 25-30 ovaries. Cucumbers grow quickly, especially in the greenhouse, and forces at plant can not be enough for all quantity of the formed fruits. As a result some prevent to grow and develop another, and as a result the gardener has the mass of the turned yellow and decayed ovaries and as much – small and curve cucumbers.
Some grades of cucumbers, and in particular hybrids, can form on one lash at the same time up to 150 ovaries. That the harvest pleased you, in time delete again formed escapes, even on what there are pistillate flowers.
Lack of microelements of the soil
The deficiency of microelements in the soil can also become the reason of yellowing and subsidence of flowers and ovaries. Gardeners lose at the same time up to 50% of harvest of cucumbers. The shortage of microelements is especially notable where mineral fertilizers are often introduced (nitric, potash, phosphoric). Introduction of the microfertilizers containing manganese, copper, pine forest, molybdenum, zinc, etc. can correct situation. At big lack of microelements use of the high-concentrated medicines produced by producers in the form of microgranules – Breksil of calcium (Brexil Ca), Reksolin plus (Rexolin Plus) is admissible. It is also possible to introduce the Kristalen fertilizers, "Terraflex and "Master" containing NPK – nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizing with complex of microelements. The wood ashes brought in the soil in the ratio of 300 g/sq.m. will help to fill up deficiency of microelements.
