Compilation - the ambiguous term which is initially given rise in literary area. It then was transformed to the field of music and computer programming. So presently compilation became widespread.
In translation from Latin a concept compilation sounds more seriously, than the term plagiarism which designates theft. Compilation at latinyan no more, no less - robbery. Actually compilation does not assume any criminal acts. It is rather useful tool for transformations.
In general compilation – the multiple-valued term. And, if the first two of its values (literary and musical) in the basis are similar among themselves, then the third (from the field of computer programming) stands alone.
Literary compilation
Fundamental type of compilation. Most was widely used in popular scientific and some other types of educational literature. Literary compilation should not be confused with literary plagiarism. Its application does not pursue the aim of assignment of others authorship, and serves as simplification of availability of perception of specific information to the reader. The principle of compilation of the text is rather simple. Let's assume, it is necessary to convey to the reader very specific, extensive information available to full perception only to the highly qualified specialist in this area. In this case the compiler gets down to business. In a situation when there is already a mass of articles affecting separate aspects of a certain subject, its task to make digestible sample of these materials and to competently create from it the complete text. For example, during the Soviet era thus textbooks on Marxism-Leninism were created. Also carry various literary collections to literary compilation.
Musical compilation
Principle of creation of musical compilation in fact same, as well as literary. A difference only that here already appear not literary, but pieces of music. And the aim is pursued other. Perhaps - promoting of the musical direction, it is possible – creation of the new original work on the basis of old. The potpourri – the piece of music made of fragments of other compositions can be the most striking example of musical compilation. The potpourris based on variety and wind music though popular classical music to them have the greatest distribution presently it is not alien. Computer compilation
This rather new type of compilation has nothing in common with two previous. As the compiler not the person, and the computer program acts here. Process of compilation consists in the following. A set of the teams written in a programming language is clear to the person, but is not clear to the computer processor. That the processor could understand them, commands have to be translated into car language, are transformed to the machine code. This task is also carried out by the electronic compiler.
