Philosophy as science

Greeks for the first time presented to people and began to develop philosophy as the separate science studying general laws of the movement of the nature, thinking of society, the system of set of views of the world and occupied by the person of the place in it. For the first time Ancient Greek philosophers (Platon, Socrates, Aristotle) researched the esthetic and ethical relation of the person to the world. Mathematical researches

At the top step of a mathematical Olympus there is a proud figure of Pythagoras. This Ancient Greek mathematician created the multiplication table which today's school students use, revealed a secret of a rectangular triangle and embodied it in the theorem bearing his name studied proportions and properties of integers. Pythagoras claimed that beauty is harmonious, i.e. she can be imprisoned in a mathematical formula. And the proof of it is opening of the attitude of a musical octave towards the main tone as 1 to 2, fifths 2 to 3, etc. "All sky is a harmony and number" - such is the motto of all life of the great mathematician.

Medicine

A founder of modern medicine is Hippocrates, the famous Ancient Greek doctor, the author of the treatise about integrity of a human body. He developed the theory of individual approach to each patient, entered indispensable maintaining the clinical record, imparted fundamentals of medical ethics. Hippocrates paid special attention to moral shape of doctors and thought up the words of the well-known oath to which devote in a profession of all gaining the medical diploma. Its immortal rule "Do Not Do Much Harm to the Patient" relevant and today.

History

The author of monumental works on stories is Herodotus who laid the foundation for the Greek historiography, and a little later Xenophon continued his business. The very first historical works of Herodotus were devoted to the significant political events endured by the author. He tried to light authentically in the works life of society in total with political and economic situations.
