The Greek gods who are thought up by the ardent, proud and loveful people inhabiting the hot peninsula embodied not only the divine force, beauty and wisdom, but also many human defects. So, Supreme god - the Thunderer Zeus was convicted of adultery, forgery, arrogance, a juggling of the facts more than once and also of banal kidnapping, that is kidnapping.
Zeus and Aegina
According to the Greek myths, the first Zeus stole a charming naiad Aegina. Having accepted shape of an eagle, the Thunderer carried away the beautiful maiden from native places and left on the island of Enona, near Attica. The concerned father, river god Asop, rushed on search of the daughter, but long could not find also her slightest trace until the tsar Corinthian, Sisyphus, in exchange for a promise not to wash away waters of the rivers entrusted to it in a high water the Acropolis of its city, told that he saw the huge eagle carrying the girl on next island. Asop tried to return the daughter, but Zeus, a thunder and lightnings, forced river god to return to own course.
Having decided to punish Sisyphus, Zeus sent to him god of death, Thanatos. But the smart tsar deceived and captivated the messenger. People ceased to die. So proceeded until the god of war – Ares interfered.
Aegina gave rise from Zeus Eak who became the tsar of the island renamed into honor of his mother. Then the naiad married the Actor and at them the son, Melenty was also born. Fearless Achilles belonged to Eak's family, Patroclos, Achilles's friend was a son Melentiya.
Zeus and Europe
Stealing of Europe became a plot of a set of magnificent works of art. Zeus kidnapped this Phoenician princess, having handled in a huge white bull, a gentle skin, pearl horns, flower aroma and musical low. The maiden saw a magnificent animal during walk with court ladies on the seashore and was so fascinated by its beauty that could not refuse to itself pleasure and got up on his back. The bull was immediately developed towards the sea and floated, making foam waves. So he reached the island of Crete where appeared before the frightened girl in true shape. Europe became the first queen of the blessed island and gave rise from the Thunderer Minos, Radamant and Sarpedon.
After death Zeus's sons both from Europe, and from Aegina became judges in the kingdom of the dead.
Ganymede's kidnapping
But not only beautiful girls Zeus abducted. Also in shape of an eagle it carried away on Olympe and the beautiful young man, Ganymede who became the cupbearer on feasts of gods. There are two versions of this myth, according to one Thunderer saw Ganymede when that pass of herd on the Mount Ida, was struck with his prettiness and immediately carried away in the halls. Other myth says that initially Ganymede was kidnapped by the goddess of a dawn – Eos, together with other young man, Typhon. Zeus convinced the goddess to leave one of her beloved, in exchange for a promise of immortality to the second. So Ganymede got on Olympe, and Titon became immortal, but growing old, Eos forgot to ask about eternal and forgot about him. The poor creature turned into a cricket over time. Ganymede's father, the tsar of Troy Tros, so strongly grieved for the son that Zeus sent to him smart Hermes. That convinced Tros that his son will live forever on the Olympus, remaining young and carefree, and as extra fee presented magnificent horses.
