Warm and tropical rainforests serve as the main habitat for 80% of all plant species and animals on the planet. These woods are quite often called "the largest pharmacy of the world" as more than a quarter of drugs make of plants which grow exactly there.

1. Trees of tropical forests have smooth and thin bark. This results from the fact that thanks to a humid climate the trunks do not need thick bark which prevents moisture loss. Tropical forests are characterized by a large amount of precipitation.

2. As remarkable feature serve leaves on trees, at lower levels they wide, on high – narrow. Thus, sunlight passes also on lower levels. In tropical forests it is also quite often possible to meet lianas. They reach the topmost layers, climbing trunks of trees in search of light.

3. Plants in the lower layers of tropical forests especially attract insects to pollination, thanks to the effective blossoming. It should be noted that many plants here carnivorous. They receive food due to eating of insects and small animals.

4. The tropical forest is very different and rich with animals. Many various monkeys live in the basin of Orinoco and Amazon. On the building they differ a little from monkeys who live in India and Africa. They have especially tenacious and long tail which helps to climb trees freely.

5. The strongest and fast predator in the tropical forest – a jaguar. This is a big yellow cat with effective black spots on the surface of a skin. The jaguar, by the way, perfectly climbs trees.

6. Near reservoirs in deep thickets it is possible to meet an animal who reminds a horse a little, and it is even more – a rhinoceros. This is the American tapir. This animal reaches 2 m in length.

7. It is also possible to meet in tropical forests of anteaters, idlers and battleships. Each animal is in own way interesting. The body of the battleship is covered with a dense armor which reminds a board of a turtle. The animal eats different small animals, ants and termites. Idlers the muzzle are similar to monkeys. They received the name for slowness and sluggishness. Marsupials animals in tropical forests in a large number are presented by water and big-eared opossums. Also there are a lot of different types of bats.

8. From birds is of special interest goatsin. This is rather large individual who is floridly painted with a big cop on the head. The nest goatsin twists in thickets of bushes, branches of trees over water. It is not terrible to fall to baby birds as they perfectly dive and float. It should be noted that more than 160 species of parrots live in tropical forests. Green Amazonian parrots are most known. They easily reproduce human language.
