Application of an empirical research in science

The empirical research in science consists in observation, comparison, the analysis, measurement, etc. It is widely applied in various fields of science. Its feature is system multilateral approach when studying separate objects, phenomena.

Observation

Conducting observation of an object allows you to study his behavior in various situations and changes which happen at the introduction in communication with other objects or the phenomena. Even in ordinary life you often watch the objects interesting you to reveal their features, regularities. For example, on the garden site you observe whether any given plant will take root as it will coexist with the plants planted by a row. Observation has subjective character as perception of the world in the form of the separate facts is especially individual. Each person sees the world with own eyes. And researchers are people too. And still scientific observation is more exact, than ordinary.

Comparison

Comparison allows to compare the object studied by you with uniform objects and by that to reveal his identity, special distinctive characteristics. At the same time only essential signs are compared to avoid wrong conclusions. In the history use of a method of comparison allows to distinguish one era from another, in literature – to distinguish in what absolutely special vision of the world, the unique view of ordinary things, in law – to define what of uniform laws from works by authors-contemporaries most we accept, etc.

Analysis

Use of a method of the analysis gives you the chance to investigate each section of the object interesting you, to sort it on small components and to study various communications between them. The analysis allows to get to the bottom of things. Investigating the text, you break it into paragraphs, offers, words. A cage of the text is the word. Studying word meaning, their communication with each other are a step to I understand contents of all text.

Measurement

Measurement, unlike other methods of an empirical research, allows to define exact quantitative values. For this purpose in science various measuring devices, national units of measure (kilometer, verst, sazhen, etc.) are used. Measurement allows to reveal regularities and to formulate laws. There is also some other methods of an empirical research. However it should be noted that in an empirical research the systemacity which allows to consider the studied object from absolutely different foreshortenings is of great importance. The research by means of any one method does not give a complete picture.
