As the mobile phone was invented

The first mobile phone significantly differed from modern cellular – it was the huge, heavy and impressive unit weighing one kilogram. The first mobile phone cost about four thousand dollars. It appeared in the 70th years of the 20th century though to its invention there were already prototypes and experimental models of mobile telephones.

Instruction

1. In several years after World War II the research laboratory under the name Bell Laboratories suggested to begin development of the mobile phone. This idea was well apprehended, but for creation of the real mobile phone in those days there was not enough knowledge and development of technology yet. Only in ten years, in 1957, the first experimental sample of the mobile phone – phone weighing three kilograms with the base station developed by the Soviet scientist Kupriyanovich was created.

2. The first prototype of the modern cell phone appeared only in 1973. His inventors are a staff of the Motorola company which at that time made radio stations. Developments of this novelty began still in the mid-fifties under the leadership of the young specialist Martin Cooper who became the head of department of creation of the latest communication devices.

3. At first Cooper was engaged in development of police radio sets and in 1967 successfully sold two small and perfectly working radio sets then he decided to be engaged in creation of the same small mobile telephones. The staff of the company at first did not accept this idea and did not begin to support Cooper as nobody believed that the telephone set can be made such sizes that it was located in a pocket, and such weight that it was possible to carry constantly it with itself. Besides, nobody represented how such phone without wires will work.

4. But the persistence and Cooper's talent led to the fact that in 1973 the first call by the mobile phone was made. On a roof of one of the New York skyscrapers the station was established, and Martin Cooper called by this phone to the chief of the ATT rival company which possesses superiority in development of cellular technologies. But Cooper was the first who put these technologies into practice.

5. The first mobile phone of Cooper had neither the display, nor additional functions. It had two buttons – a call and the termination of a call, it worked till eight o'clock in a waiting mode and about an hour during the conversation, and it was loaded the whole ten hours. In the next years five more such phones were created then development and improvement of mobile phones began.
